"The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) World Tour 2010," described as "pop's latest sci-fi spectacle" by the New York Times, and "kind of Buck Rogers meets Vivienne Westwood" by RollingStone.com, rolls on in support of The E.N.D., The Black Eyed Peas' multi-platinum #1 album. The tour marks the first time that will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie are united for North American headline dates since their 2006 Monkey Business world tour.
"The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) World Tour 2010" began four days after the Black Eyed Peas' triple Grammy Award win, as they effectively doubled their career total to six Grammys. The E.N.D. won for Best Pop Vocal Album, while its first single "Boom Boom Pow" won Best Short Form Music Video, and its second single "I Gotta Feeling" won for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group. The E.N.D. has sold over 2.2 million copies in the U.S., and over 6 million copies world¬wide. It is strong as ever at #4 this week, in its 38th week on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The E.N.D.'s fourth #1 U.S./#1 UK single is the red-hot "Imma Be," now in its second week at #1 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot Digital Tracks chart, with sales over 1.5 million. The "Imma Be Rockin' That Body" video, a Top 10 download at iTunes. The single follows-up the chart record-breaking consecutive #1 singles, "Boom Boom Pow" (12 weeks at #1, and 4.9 million sales to date) and "I Gotta Feeling" (14 weeks at #1, and 5.1 million sales to date, the most downloaded song in iTunes history). "Meet Me Halfway," the third single, passed the 2 million sales mark this week.
The first North American leg of "The E.N.D. World Tour 2010" opened at Philips Arena in Atlanta on February 4th and will end April 11th at GM Place in Vancouver. After a short break, the tour resumes in May with shows across the UK and Europe, climaxing in early July at four of Europe's most prestigious outdoor summer pop festivals: the 6th annual "Main Square Festival" in Arras, France on Friday, July 2nd; the 12th annual "Heineken Jammin Festival" in Venice on July 5th; the 17th annual "T In The Park" at Balado Park near Kinross, Scotland, on July 10th; and the 7th annual "Oxegen" at Punchestown race course in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland, on July 11th.
"The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) World Tour 2010," presented by AEG, is the ultimate Black Eyed Peas party experience, a feast for the senses for hundreds of thousands of fans in arenas across the country and around the world. The setting proves ‘The Energy Never Dies' as it replicates the party vibe of a hot dance club, complete with guest DJs including will.i.am.
