BET Experience

The BET Experience is back! Get ready for three days of endless entertainment at L.A. LIVE and your only chance to roll like a VIP and attend the 2014 BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE! Our 2014 lineup is packed with must-see performances, including OutKast, Mary J. Blige, Maxwell, Jill Scott, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, Jennifer Hudson and more, all at the world-famous STAPLES Center. Plus, the free Fan Fest returns with Genius Talks, interactive exhibits, and free giveaways.

Maxwell

Once classified as part of the neo-soul movement after his 1996 hit “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder),” Maxwell’s appeal has stood the test of time—from his remake of Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work” to the R.Kelly-penned “Fortunate” that topped the R&B charts in 1999. After a ten-year hiatus from recording, he returned with a #1 album and a Grammy-nominated smash “Pretty Wings.” Many consider the Brooklyn-based crooner’s rendition of Al Green’s “Simply Beautiful” at the 2008 BET Awards a career-defining moment.

Jill Scott

The three-time Grammy winning soul singer has been hailed as one of the most dynamic voices of R&B. Hailing from Philadelphia, she met ?uestlove, with whom she co-wrote the song “You Got Me,” which was recorded by The Roots and Erykah Badu. A former spoken-word artist, Scott toured with a Canadian production of the hit musical Rent, and later won praise for her roles in the HBO series No.1 Ladies Detective Agency and Tyler Perry’s film Why Did I Get Married?  This multitalented performer also performed at the 2011 BET Awards.

Marsha Ambrosius

Although she became famous as one half of Floetry, when the duo split over creative differences, this singer from Liverpool, England, became a solo artist. And in 2011, Marsha Ambrosius released her solo debut, Late Nights & Early Mornings. The album peaked at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. She has also written or produced music for Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Nas and the song “Butterflies” for Michael Jackson.
