Los Angeles, CA (August 13, 2013) – Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker have announced an intimate club show on Sept. 10 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. The Starland Ballroom reopens in early September following damaging floodwaters at the hands of Superstorm Sandy, which destroyed or damaged more than 200 homes in Sayreville. At this show, the band will donate a portion of each ticket sold to Sandy relief as well as to research and treatment for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The Sandy Relief funds will be earmarked to assist Sayreville families through the Middlesex County Long Term Recovery Group (http://middlesexltrg.org). The following night, on Sept. 11, blink-182 will perform a benefit show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg to benefit burn treatment centers, plus cancer and diabetes research and treatment.
Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge said, "This is going to be a great show in an intimate venue. We don’t get to play a lot of gigs in clubs anymore, so this’ll be as much fun for us as it is for the crowd. Plus, showing that the Starland and Sayreville were knocked down, but they’re not out --all while helping with relief efforts-- is awesome."
Supporting blink-182 on this date is Red Bull Records’ band NeW bEAt FUNd. At this performance, NbF T-shirt sales will also benefit the two charities. Additionally, anyone who purchases a T-shirt will receive a CD copy of the band’s “($) CoiNz” EP.
Tickets will go on sale at noon ET on Fri. Aug 16 at www.starlandballroom.com, www.AXS.com, by phone at 888-929-7849 and at Jack’s Music Shoppe in Red Bank. This is an all-ages to enter, 21 to drink event. Visit http://www.starlandballroom.com/ for additional information.
Please note: Starland SeasonPass vouchers are not eligible for this or any charity-designated Starland Ballroom event.
