Lightshade and The Collective 360 are thrilled to announce the first annual SMOKEDOWN, featuring hip--‐hop legends, Method Man & Redman, at Ogden Theater on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Tickets are $27.50 in advance or $25 in--‐store for Lightshade members.Denver--‐based outfit, The Foodchain will open. Surprise guests TBA.
General Manager of Lightshade, Santino Walter, says SMOKEDOWN comes as a celebration of the growing cannabis culture in theMileHighCity, and the longstanding relationship of music and marijuana.
“Lightshade is already known for its top-shelf marijuana. We recognize that marijuana is now moving into the mainstream culture, so now is the perfect time to connect withDenver’s community of young, active trendsetters,” Walter says. “A concert is a great way forDenverto associate Lightshade not only with top-shelf marijuana, but also the modern culture that our brand supports.”
For Ben Martch, partner at The Collective 360, bringing Method Man & Redman was an easy decision.
“Redman and Method Man have supported the marijuana industry for years andDenver’s music fans remain very enthusiastic about seeing them perform live,” Martch says. “Asking them to headline SMOKEDOWN seemed like a natural fit.”
Aside from being one of Denver’s most-talked about concerts this fall, SMOKEDOWN will also serve as a unifying and educational event for Denver, as multiple cannabis companies and vendors will have booths on site, and more than $3,000 of merchandise will be given away to attendees. SMOKEDOWN will also be an opportunity for attendees to experience Lightshade’s culture and standard of excellence, with interactive activities and educational material for concert-goers to understand why “the difference is night and day” at Lightshade.
“Lightshade stands out among other dispensaries because our shops merge top-shelf marijuana with cannabis science and pop culture,” Walter says. “We take the medicinal and cultural aspects of marijuana to mold a hip retail setting. Ultimately, SMOKEDOWN will be a marijuana-friendly atmosphere with amazing live hip-hop.”
Service and handling fees are added to the price of each ticket.
