In 2012, SoMo—aka Joseph Somers-Morales— independently released his mixtape, My Life, after growing a vast following by uploading popular renditions of new and old classics to YouTube.

Merging R&B spirit with pop soul, My Life showcased SoMo’s dynamic voice and songwriting prowess.  The mixtape spawned the Texas native’s first hit "Ride," which began selling 10,000 digital tracks weekly- prior to any radio support or label backing. Both accompanying videos have amassed over 40 million views on YouTube.

In February of 2014, SoMo released his self-titled debut album via Republic Records, which entered at #6 on the Billboard charts and #1 on the iTunes Album Chart.  His breakout single “Ride” was certified Gold, and he made his National Television debut appearances on BET’s 106 & Park, The Arsenio Hall Show, and VH-1’s Big Morning Buzz.

In the year since the release, SoMo has been on the road touring, as well as working tirelessly in the studio with other artists and songwriters, both on remixes, outside projects, and his sophomore album. These collaborations have included artists like Trey Songz, Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign, K Camp, Kirko Bangz, Hoodie Allen, The Rascals and Babyface. SoMo has also been nominated for the 2015 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop “Social Star Award” alongside Rae Sremmurd and Young Ferg.

On 2015’s The Fallin’ Up Tour, a 36-city run of shows Nationwide this Fall, SoMo will circle the country, supported by buzzy newcomer Jordan Bratton and Kirko Bangz. Armed with an arsenal of new music and fan favorites, and with a new single and album being prepped for release, SoMo is poised to hit the road and take the next step in his impressive young career.
